You're told to write an essay, following the rules of an essay, and structure, no problem right? So you're writing your essay about an amazing topic, but your told you have to do the topic the teacher gives you. You don't know nothing about it, and absolutely hate the topic. But you're forced to write it, so you have to write it, or you won't pass. You have an amazing idea for a art painting and clay structure, but you're told you have to paint and sculpt what everyone else is doing. Isn't art supposed to creative and too express your mind?
It's 2015, and every year creativity is is an abomination to school systems. You have a creative idea for a project? Can't do that, it has to follow the 1 million rules that the schools put in place to destroy your creative mind, and do what they tell you too pass their class. The problem is , the school system doesn't understand your way of learning. You get in trouble for sketching on your paper, even if it helps you learn better. You get in trouble when you don't follow any guidelines, or the template. Listening to music while working? Nope, some teachers won't allow it because they think, " you're listening to the answers".
In my opinion, the school system doesn't understand that students all have a different way of learning, but they only teach one way, and make it your fault that you got low marks, or failed. Teachers wonder why students hate coming to school? Well because they can be creative at home, and don't have a planned lunch time, and can go outside and express who they are without being told they can or can't. They stay home because they can freely be whoever they want, without being told it is "wrong". School is a prison, filled with juveniles.
School's have elective classes , like wood working, art, music, ect. But you're still following guidelines? I thought these were classes to have fun and be freely creative with others? I guess schools have changed ever since grade 6. I feel that the lack of creativity is not the teachers fault. For the most of it, its the school board. They came up with the rules and regulations, and the guidelines, and the lack of creativity in assignments. Remember getting assignments in grade 7 when you had to make something on a piece of Bristol board? But it had to be informative and the piece of paper couldn't be lime green or bright sky blue? That's what I'm talking about. The lack of freedom and creativity they allow. Just like this blog, I'm told to write blogs. And I'm told I have to do them how he tells us too.
